2024 Tournaments – Over $20,000 in Prizes

Now that 2023 has come to a close, we’d like to finally announce our plans for 2024. But first, a quick confirmation; No, TFCL is not going to be ready for a 2024 launch. As said before, we won’t launch TFCL until after every single feature is ready to go. This means that, even if nine out of ten features are good to go, we simply won’t launch until all ten are ready.

With that said, and while we can’t currently announce too much quite yet, what I can say with absolute certainty is that not a single person has a proper understanding as to what TFCL actually is, and what we aim to achieve. Fact is, if you’re of the belief that TFCL is just a simple rival to RGL, you’re sorely mistaken. On that note as well, for those of you that want a new league to replace RGL? Yeah, we’re not trying to do that, either. As we’ve been saying since 2016, TFCL is a marketing platform for competitive TF2.

October 30th, 2016 – We’re designing our platform from the ground up, so that we can provide competitive players with the ultimate tournament website and league.

Later on, we expanded upon that with this paragraph.

January 23rd, 2017 – You might find this mildly surprisingly, but we’re huge fans of Team Fortress 2. We love everything that this game has to offer, and believe that with the right push, TF2 can become a very popular eSport in its own right. Unfortunately, no other league is really doing much to promote TF2 as an eSport title, so we figured it was time that we create our own league. TFCL was built with the hat wearing spirit, and our ultimate goal is to showcase the awesome world of Team Fortress by being the absolute best league and TF2 resource around. Everything TF2 will happen here, all in the name of some sketchy Russian science.

Needless to say, TFCL has always been more than just a league.

And now, thanks to some new financial opportunities, we’re taking the time needed to build TFCL back up, and operate it in the way we always wanted to since we first came online in 2016.

To try and also remind everyone that we exist, as well as to hopefully show you how serious and dedicated we are to the future of the TF2 esport scene, we will be hosting $20,000 worth of tournaments throughout 2024. No, it won’t be one giant thing. Might be a $500 tournament here, or a $2,000 tournament there.

We’ll have more information and tournament specifics later.

Also, to be clear; the funding used from our Patreon is NOT going towards our prize pools. The Patreon is strictly used for development purposes.
